International Gastronomy

Here you can find a list of some international restaurants located in Tallinn. The real offer is obviously wider. This list has been drawn up by considering geographical variety and quality. At the end of this section you can also find Villa Ammende, an international restaurant located in Pärnu, and University Café, an international restaurant located in Tartu.

Beer House- Tallinn  (German-Bavarian Cuisine)

Lively “Bavarian” style restaurant, ideal for drinking a beer after having dinner. It is located near the Town Hall Square, in the heart of the Old Town. It has a typical “Oktoberfest” menu, revised according to Estonian gastronomy. Among its best dishes there are: Chicken wings, Fried cheese, Crispy pig's ears with garlic sauce and Cold-smoked salmon. Beer is really excellent. Live music during the week-ends.

Gloria- Tallinn (French Cuisine) www.gloria.ee
Despite its competitors, people keep on considering Gloria the best restaurant in Tallinn. This restaurant was opened in the second half of the 1930s. Dishes are refined and served in a wonderful hall. Duck,“Chef’s special” and desserts are excellent. Thanks to the prestigious wine cellar annexed to the restaurant, wine list is really remarkable.

VILLA AMMENDE - Parnu (Mediterranean and French Fusion Cuisine)

Villa Ammende is a wonderful Art Nouveau building located into an oak garden. Customers are received in three different halls (a red, a blue and a green hall). Refined cuisine, courteous waiters and high-class atmosphere.

UNIVERSITY CAFE’- Tartu (Fusion Cusine)
This building housed both aristocratic galas and amusing students meeting.
In 1924 the building was bought by Tartu University and its first floor became a student dining hall.
In 1957 a café was opened in the second floor. Thus students and university staff had the possibility of relaxing in a comfortable atmosphere up to 1983.
After the renovations in 1983, rooms were organized in a different way and from that very moment the coffee daily life became less interesting.
At the beginning of 2005 Univeristy Café knew a revival, thanks to its six halls, its comfortable cornerns, its helpful staff and its excellent music. The Restaurant is located at the first floor and offers “menu à la carte” including handmade pasta and fresh tuna with orange sauce.
